Amir John Haddad – EL AMIR, an internationally acclaimed virtuoso guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, presents a unique show in Ibiza where flamenco meets the roots of the East, the Mediterranean and world music.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Hans Zimmer, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Estrella Morente, Miguel Poveda and Diego El Cigala, and has performed as a solo guitarist with The World of Hans Zimmer. His guitar has also featured in several Hollywood productions, including the latest James Bond 007 film, "No Time to Die".
EL AMIR has developed a musical language of his own, connecting cultures and traditions through the guitar.
As part of this experience, the evening will feature a teaser for the upcoming documentary "Ziryab and the Winds of Culture", directed by Alan Cantos, a project that explores and uncovers the connections that, from ancient times to the present day, continue to shape our music, customs and cultural identity.
Inspired by Ziryab, musician, poet and a key figure in the cultural history of Al-Andalus, the show explores the connections between East and West and reminds us that many of the artistic expressions we consider our own today were born precisely from the meeting of cultures. “An Oriental, Mediterranean and Flamenco Soul” takes audiences on a musical journey through centuries of history and the cultures that converged across the Mediterranean, from the sounds of the Middle East to the flamenco of Andalusia.
Guitar, flamenco vocals, dance and percussion come together in an experience filled with power, emotion and virtuosity.
